The human microbiome plays a significant role in the development, manifestation, and mitigation of asthma and allergic diseases. Asthma, a chronic disease affecting millions worldwide, is strongly associated with immune dysfunction, particularly hyperactivation of the T-helper 2 arm of adaptive immunity.
