I approached science in 1999-2000 as AFS exchange students in Atlanta GA, USA. I graduated from medical school G. d’Annunzio University, Chieti in 2007, with my research project “Evaluation of E6-E7 proteins in HPV related lesion of the cervix”. In 2008 I started working at Histopathology Dept., ASL2 Lanciano-Vasto-Chieti “SS Annunziata” Hospital, Chieti, Italy and at Histopathology Dept., “G. Bernabeo” Hospital, Ortona (CH), Italy. In 2011 I have got involved in academic activities such as teaching in clinical practice to junior doctors and medical students and I kept working on HPV related lesions and on target therapy in lung cancer.

In 2012 and 2013 I was a visitor fellow at University College London Hospital, London.

On July 2014 I finished my training in Histo/Cytopathology discussing my research project on renal pathology which is still on going. Since August 2014 I am on GMC Specialist Register.

Now I am working as Clinical Fellow in Histopathology at Royal Brompton Hospital, London focusing on cardiothoracic pathology.

Research Interest: Lung cancer, breast cancer, HPV related disease and IgA nephropathy.

I have completed my PhD in Cell Biology, working with glioma cells and studying their behavior, using cell culture, and various techniques and in vitro conditions and treatments to analyze cell responses and morphology, to study the angiogenesis response of endothelial cells in glioma, and the role of inflammatory mediators. After this, I did a post-doctoral period in Spain, where I worked with artificial skin and stem cells. I did other Postdoctoral research in Germany (DKFZ- German Centre of Research Cancer) worked with iPS cells and adoptive transfer for melanoma immunotherapy. Now I am an Associated Professor in Histology at Federal University of Santa Catarina- Brazil.

Research Interest: Cancer (Central nervous system and melanoma), angiogenesis, invasion and migration of tumoral cells
