Assoc.
Prof. Dr. Berna Dincer, is an academic researcher and educator in the field of
nursing and health sciences. My academic journey has been dedicated to
advancing knowledge in internal medicine nursing, diabetes management, patient
education, and integrating innovative healthcare technologies into clinical
practice.
I
completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at Marmara University, where I
developed a strong foundation in health sciences. In 2013, I obtained my
master’s degree with a thesis titled "Influence of Cognitive and Social
Factors Relevant to Diabetes on Metabolic Control in Patients with Type-2
Diabetes." This research fueled my interest in diabetes management and
patient-centered care. I further pursued my doctoral studies at Marmara
University and earned my PhD in 2018 with a dissertation entitled
"Evaluation of the Efficiency of a Mobile Application Developed for Foot
Care Education in Patients with Diabetes," under the supervision of Prof.
Dr. Ayşe Nefise Bahçecik. This study highlighted the significance of digital
health interventions in improving patient outcomes and self-care behaviors.
My
academic career commenced in 2013 as a research assistant at Istanbul Medeniyet
University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, where I contributed to various
research projects and educational activities. In 2020, I was appointed as an
Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing at Istanbul
Medeniyet University. I have been actively involved in teaching, research, and
academic administration, and I currently serve as Vice Dean of the Faculty of
Health Sciences
Research Interests: My
research interests primarily focus on diabetes education, nursing innovations,
alternative and complementary therapies, and the integration of technology into
healthcare practices. I have been a principal investigator and researcher in
several national and international projects, including the "Turkish
Adaptation of the Diabetes Awareness and Insight Scale in Type 2 Diabetics:
Reliability and Validity Study" and "Effect of Music Therapy on Quality
of Life in Cancer Patients: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis."
Additionally, I have participated in interdisciplinary projects, such as the
"International Interdisciplinary Network on Smart Healthy Age-Friendly
