    Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berna Dincer, is an academic researcher and educator in the field of nursing and health sciences. My academic journey has been dedicated to advancing knowledge in internal medicine nursing, diabetes management, patient education, and integrating innovative healthcare technologies into clinical practice.

    I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies at Marmara University, where I developed a strong foundation in health sciences. In 2013, I obtained my master’s degree with a thesis titled "Influence of Cognitive and Social Factors Relevant to Diabetes on Metabolic Control in Patients with Type-2 Diabetes." This research fueled my interest in diabetes management and patient-centered care. I further pursued my doctoral studies at Marmara University and earned my PhD in 2018 with a dissertation entitled "Evaluation of the Efficiency of a Mobile Application Developed for Foot Care Education in Patients with Diabetes," under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ayşe Nefise Bahçecik. This study highlighted the significance of digital health interventions in improving patient outcomes and self-care behaviors.

     

    My academic career commenced in 2013 as a research assistant at Istanbul Medeniyet University’s Faculty of Health Sciences, where I contributed to various research projects and educational activities. In 2020, I was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine Nursing at Istanbul Medeniyet University. I have been actively involved in teaching, research, and academic administration, and I currently serve as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences

     

    Research Interests: My research interests primarily focus on diabetes education, nursing innovations, alternative and complementary therapies, and the integration of technology into healthcare practices. I have been a principal investigator and researcher in several national and international projects, including the "Turkish Adaptation of the Diabetes Awareness and Insight Scale in Type 2 Diabetics: Reliability and Validity Study" and "Effect of Music Therapy on Quality of Life in Cancer Patients: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis." Additionally, I have participated in interdisciplinary projects, such as the "International Interdisciplinary Network on Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments

    Faiza A. Abou El-Soud has had a distinct teaching experience since 1993. She got her BSN from Cairo University, Egypt. Following her master's Degree and doctorate in nursing from Menoufia University, Egypt. She had a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Faiza has more than thirty years of experience in teaching and academic nursing career. She held many academic positions in various as a nursing professor in ARE, and an associate professor in UAE. She is an assistant professor in community health nursing for the BNS program and midwifery programs for the master's program at KSAU-CONR. Dr. Abou El-Soud contributed to many scientific committees and aims to establish multidisciplinary approaches in curriculum development, ensuring the highest quality teaching and research, and raising the progress of students' knowledge and skills. Supervising the completion of undergraduate students and master's on their research projects and thesis. She has carried out and contributed to many community-based projects and publications. In 2018, Dr. Abou El-Soud received the best award for a Poster Presentation at, the 4th Annual Congress and Medicine Expo on Trauma & Critical Care Pairs, France. In 2023, Dr. Abou El-Soud received the best award for Oral Presentation, 2nd Research Day, and Exploring Recent Trends in Nursing Sciences. Dr. Abou El-Soud’s research focuses primarily on senior health, activity restriction, and rehabilitation. However, the scope of research interest is extended to include using artificial intelligence and its impact on nursing care and students’ performance.
