My work broadly concern on the performance analysis, training load monitoring, match analysis, small-sided and conditioned games, and physical activity and health. Research in this area has been supported by qualitative and qualitative methodologies, in order to capture the dynamic and multifactorial reality that characterizes performance in sport. Although most of my research focuses on football, I am interested in the study of other sports, especially team ball sports, on which I have also developed several research works.

Dr.
Mark Vaczi was born in Dunaújváros, Hungary, in 1974. He has been involved in
higher education since 1999, teaching approximately 25 different sports science
courses. He started as a lecturer at the University of Memphis, then worked as
an assistant professor at the Institute of Health Development Sports Sciences
Institute, Eotwos Lorand University, Budapest. From 2010, he was an assistant
professor and later an associate professor at the Institute of Sport Sciences
and Physical Education at the University of Pecs. Since 2017, he has been
leading the Department of Sports, and since 2024, the Department of Sports
Biology and Kinesiology. Between 2020 and 2023, he was the director of the
Institute of Sport Sciences and Physical Education. He has been a PhD
supervisor since 2013 and has 15 years of experience in teaching in English. He
was awarded with a Master Teacher Golden Medal, and supervised two dozens of
students in the National Scientific Students' Associations Conference, Hungary.
He is the program leader of the Coach BSc program. He has been conducting
scientific research since 1997 and is the head of the biomechanics laboratory.
His research focuses on the broad acute and chronic neuromechanical adaptation
mechanisms after various training intervention programs in athletes,
non-athletes, aging populations, and people with muscle diseases. He used to
coach elite badminton and basketball players, and was the conditioning coach of
the Hungarian table tennis and fencing national teams. Currently, he trains an
Olympian swimmer.
PhD and full professor at the Department of Physical Education and Sports (University of Seville). He collaborates with several foreign research centers and has been an author in the main journals of the biomedical field, highlighting his contribution in the manual Exercise and Chronic Disease. An Evidence-Based Approach in the Editorial Routledge or publications in APMR, CER or EJAP. As a result of these studies, he received a prestigious research award at the XVII Andalusian Institute of Sport Sports Research Awards. In addition to a clear line focused on physical activity and health (especially focused on fibromyalgia, diabetes, aging or practice habits), has developed in parallel studies related to sport sciences, again, with very positive results as international publications in the JSS or the JSCR, among others. During these years he has participated in numerous research projects both with the public administration (Ministry of Education and Science and Ministry of Health of the Junta de Andalucía), and the private sector (Sevilla FC SAD or PowerPlate) and is part of the Editorial Committee or external reviewer from prestigious international journals (eg AC&R, J Pain Res, Mayo Clinics, etc.). In short, and as a member of the Andalusian Center for Research in Physical Activity, Health and Sport, is very aware of the importance of physical exercise to improve the health and physical condition of the population.

My
name is Andriy Vovkanych and I am 61 years old. I was born in the west of
Ukraine in the city of Lviv, my father - Stepan Vovkanych was a famous
scientist in the field of economics and sociology, doctor of sciences, a member
of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences in the Vatican, my mother - a
geologist, worked at the Research Institute of Gas Exploration.
I
studied at a school with in-depth study of the English language, received the
qualification of a translator of English scientific and technical literature.
In addition, I participated in student competitions in English and biology.
Since
I liked biology, after graduating from school I entered the Faculty of Biology
of Ivan Franko University, specialized in human and animal physiology, did internships
in institutions of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, my Dyploma was about
transmembrane ionic currents in the salivary glands of the chironomus larva.
While studying at the university, I was engaged in archery, was a member of the
university team.
After
graduating from the university, I was hired to work at the Institute of
Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the Department of
Regulation of Carbohydrate Metabolism. After four years of work, I enrolled in
graduate school (part-time) at the Central Institute of Physical Culture in
Moscow. In order to be able to carry out research related to the study of the
impact of repeated static loadings on the athletes of different specialties, I
moved to work at the Institute of Physical Culture, where I have been working
for 35 years.
I
started working as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Anatomy and
Physiology, and after defending my PhD thesis, I became a lecturer. At that
time, as a volunteer, I began working with a non-government organization of
people with spinal cord injuries, became interested in the issues of training
specialists in physical therapy, and, in fact, under my influence, my
university was the first in Ukraine to start training specialists in this
field. I was entrusted with organizing the Department of Physical Therapy,
which I headed and managed for 18 years. I was repeatedly awarded with diplomas
and awards from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, regional and
city administrations.
I
was the head of several projects in the field of training personnel in physical
therapy, as well as recreational sports with the disabled in partnership with
colleagues from Poland, Canada, Holland and Sweden. I repeatedly participated
in international trainings, seminars and scientific conferences abroad and in
Ukraine. Given my significant scientific experience and experience in
establishing international contacts, I was appointed to the position of
Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations, where served 2 terms (10
years). For my successful work, I was awarded the State Award - "Honored
Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine". I currently work as the Dean
of the Faculty of Therapy and Rehabilitation.
